Looking forward to another successful Academy.
The 2018 FOTP was a great success providing critical hands-on training in and out of the classroom. Seventy-eight attendees came from 27 fire departments across Colorado and southern Wyoming. A variety of 2 and 4-hour sessions were offered (27 total) from interior & basement fire attack to scene size up, grass fire 101 and driving simulator. Six members of the Eastern Colorado Type 3 IMT, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention & Control (CDFPC) and 18 instructors from other fire departments provided great oversight and instruction for this event. We would like to thank our hosts the Sterling Fire Department and Northeastern Junior College (NJC) along with assistance from CWFIMA, CDFPC and the Colorado Fire Departments providing instructors. The 2019 FOTP is being planned for Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado; dates to be determined.
We have added N9062 e-Isuite (all modules) to the summer schedule, it will run June 5-7.
This unique training event will be held on July 20-22, 2018 at Northeastern Junior College. Fire on the Plains (FOTP) is geared towards structure fire departments seeking training on a variety of platforms including live fire, extrication, command, driving, FF skills and EMS skills. Come join us for a day, 2-day or extended weekend.
Fire on the Plains is a collaborative effort to bring cost effective, high quality, hands-on training to the first responders of the eastern plains of Colorado. This year we have re-tooled some of our offerings and added a few that folks have requested. We are also partnering with Northeastern Jr College this year and college credit may be available for some courses.
This event is designed to provide basic skills introduction to newer firefighters as well as giving the seasoned firefighter the ability to explore new concepts. Each session will provide the opportunity for students to work on specific Job Performance Requirements (JPR) for certification maintenance. Click to Read More and Register Online
